This 1836 Capped Bust Dime is a great example of this early type, which was replaced in 1837 by the Seated Liberty coinage.
Coin Highlights:- Designed by John Reich.
- Mintage of 1,190,000 pieces.
- Obverse: Depicts the profile of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap with her hair flowing out the back. Encircling Liberty are thirteen stars representing the original colonies.
- Reverse: Features an eagle with a shield on its chest holding an olive branch and a cluster of arrows.
